CORFU WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER-CORFU PHOTOGRAPHER-ΦΩΤΟΓΡΑΦΟΣ ΓΑΜΟΥ ΚΕΡΚΥΡΑ-ΦΩΤΟΓΡΑΦΙΣΗ ΓΑΜΟΥ ΣΤΗΝ ΚΕΡΚΥΡΑ Angelos Vlassis has a passion for his work and specializes in portrait, landscape, wedding, advertising and web photography. In fact he can turn his mind to anything with enthusiasm so long as he has a camera in his hand.
Angelos shares his passion for his profession and gives us some insight to how he approaches his work:
'I was twelve years old when I first used a camera and that was it...! Zap! There were no more perspectives or views for me other than those that I could see through my Zenith's lens.
Although I never studied photography, I had all the guidance I needed through the magazines and books that I bought whilst I was living in Germany. Later on my Zenith was replaced by a Canon and eventually modern technology prevailed and I now catch each moment with a digital.
Views of Corfu, portraits of people, ceremonies and events on the island and I never stop looking for those magic images...constantly searching to capture the moment...those special opportunities that you least expect . Through my work I have found a way to express my feelings.
At the end of the 1980s I met a monk in the monastery at Paleokastritsa. I asked if I could take his photograph. He patiently stood still whilst I positioned my camera. He had that perfect expression. This photograph as captured the essence and spirit of my work and is now part of a permanent exhibition of my portfolio that is on display in the old Parliament building in West Germany.
When I was nineteen I photographed my first wedding ceremony. There is something very special about witnessing people's most precious moments. It is an honour to be trusted with the task of creating a record of their day, because once it has passed they are relying on your work to keep their memories alive. It gives me great pleasure to undertake commissions for my customers'.
